  • Find this folder in the package: /step_1/app/design/frontend/base/default/ ; copy its content to /app/design/frontend/[your_package]/[your_theme]/
  • Find this folder in the package: /step_1/skin/frontend/base/default/ ; copy its content to /skin/frontend/[your_package]/[your_theme]/

 8. Flush store cache again; log out from the backend and log in again.

Configuration

To configure the extension, go to the System > Configuration > aheadWorks Extensions > Sociable or CMS > Sociable > Settings backend page.

General

Here you can enable\disable the extension for the frontend.

The Auto-arrange links by stats option allows defining the way services will be sorted in the list on the frontend. If this option is switched on, services will be sorted by clicks count, i.e. services that have more clicks will be displayed as the first. If this option is switched off, services will be sorted by the value of the Sort Order field in the Manage Service page.

Also you can specify the position for the block to appear.

Important! If the block was inserted as shown in the Use CMS section below , the Block position field doesn't affect this block.

Bit.ly

This tab allow you to configure the Bit.ly service.

1) Go to the http://bit.ly/a/sign_in page. Sign in into your account. If you don't have the Bit.ly account, you can create it by clicking http://bit.ly/a/sign_up .

2) Having signed in, go to your account settings (or just use this link - http://bit.ly/a/account). Copy your API Key on this page, go to your store backend, and insert the key into the API Key field. Also you should type your login in the API Login field. Leave the API version field as it is.

Use CMS

Insert the next line into necessary CMS page where you want Sociable to be displayed at:

Do NOT insert this line in .phtml files directly.

To change the style, open the aw_sociable.css file at /skin/frontend/<your_package>/<your_theme>/aw_sociable/css/.

Uninstall

Since Magento doesn't give an opportunity to perform an automatic uninstall of the modules, you need to run the following query on your database manually:

This will delete the extension's attributes from the database. After that, you can safely remove the extension's files from your store.

Troubleshooting

After the extension installation the store gives an error, or blank page, or suggests to start Magento installation procedure.
Change the owner of the extracted extension files to the web server user and set 775 permissions on them. Clear the store cache and try again.

There is no aheadWorks extensions under my configuration section, or having the extension tab clicked I get a blank page, or Access Denied error.
Clear the store cache, browser cookies, logout and login again.

I've set up everything correctly, inserted the HTML code but there is nothing on that page.
Clear the store cache, clear your browser cache and domain cookies and refresh the page.

My configuration changes do not appear on the store.
Clear the store cache, clear your browser cache and domain cookies and refresh the page.

Bit.ly don't convert long Url to short Url.
Make sure that you customized Bit.ly section fully.
May be Bit.ly changed api version - for check it go to http://code.google.com/p/bitly-api/wiki/ApiDocumentation and read paragraph at the top of page, they should contain something like "The current API version is 3.0" - it's mean current version v3. Compare current version and version that set in you backend, if versions is differ - change version on the your backend page to version that showed on the Bit.ly api documentation page.
